The Youth Life Center of The Arts is looking for one after-school program assistant to join our 13 person strong team. We are located on 216 Valley Hill Road SW in Riverdale, GA. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.



  • Provide participants with the appropriate leadership during the program
  • Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants
  • Maintain open communication between the Youth Life Center of The Arts and school personnel
  • Prepare activities that are developmentally and age appropriate for school age children
  • Maintain a safe environment for participants
  • Submit all written correspondence to the Program Administrator for approval prior to distribution
  • Supervise and monitor children's indoor and outdoor activities
  • Attend staff training and meetings
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward coworkers, parents, and the school
  • Report any problems which arise with participants, other employees, or the school to the Program Director
  • Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program
  • Keep the room neat and orderly
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies
  • Assist with participant checkin/out
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Proven experience in this field is a plus
  • Must have previous experience working with adolescent school aged children
  • Possess basic knowledge and understanding of school aged children
  • Be a selfstarter and perform job with little supervision
  • Possess excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess the ability to follow written and oral directions
  • Must be able to handle any questions that arise with the public by answering them or by giving them the proper directions for the answer
  • Must be honest, in good health, accurate, have a neat appearance, and courteous
  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift, bend and stand
  • Possess or attain CPR/AED/Fist Aid Certification and pass background screening
  • Possess of Paraprofessional Certification or CDA preferred
