At Pine Forest Children's Center we believe in hiring great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, because it makes our school stronger and our learning opportunities richer. We are seeking full time teachers to join our dedicated teaching community who are committed to their own personal growth as well as supporting young children and their families.
Do you want to join a creative, upbeat, supportive and growth-minded teaching community? Do you enjoy exploring nature and emergent learning while sharing the experience with young children?
Pine Forest Children's Center (PFCC) has been providing high quality early childhood education for a diverse community of families in the South End of Burlington since 1988. We pride ourselves on our ability to partner with families to help children grow to the best of their abilities. Our curriculum is emergent and play-based, allowing children to guide their own learning. We plan developmentally appropriate activities that are teacher guided and open ended, utilizing large and small groups, reflecting the best research in early childhood education. We believe that allowing children to build upon their experiences provides a diverse and stable foundation for all future learning to occur. Our goal is that all children leave PFCC with a social and emotional toolkit for success.
Do you want to make a difference in your community? Do you want to work in an environment where everyone is comfortable sharing their authentic whole selves?
PFCC is a multi-faceted community which values imagination, integrity, curiosity and responsibility in children and adults. We view ourselves as adults who are continually learning, growing, and becoming better teachers. We are innovative, yet with a sense of tradition and attention to the natural world. In the 2021/22 school year we plan to embark on a yearlong journey together exploring our curriculum, materials, and environments to ensure we are meeting our goals and school philosophy.
We are seeking teachers who are able to provide nurturing care, scaffolding, and appropriate guidance to children in their classrooms. These positions will work together in our classrooms and work amongst teams of teachers to create dynamic learning environments. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, responsible, flexible team player that loves working with young children and will possess strong communication skills. A degree in Early Childhood Education, a related field or related coursework is preferred. We are also willing to support you in attaining credentials and degrees as you work toward your professional goals.
Please send a resume and cover letter to Christina Goodwin.
