Join our amazing educational team! Northshire Day School is currently hiring a part-time Early Childhood Educator to work in our Early Childhood Program in Manchester Center, Vermont. NDS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic and have a passion for working with children ages 0-5, the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment, proficient written and verbal communication, knowledge about the STARS program, early childhood licensing regulations, and planning and implementing a play-based curriculum. Preferred candidates will have skills and education in child development and learning, building family and community relationships, observing, documenting and assessing children, using developmentally appropriate practice, building quality curriculum following the Vermont Early Learning Standards, ensuring a healthy and safe environment and a commitment to growing as an early childhood professional. Must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position includes covering teaching planning time and lunch breaks and support to classrooms as needed.
Preferred Candidates will have A.A. Degree in Early Childhood Education (or 21 related college credits) and at least 1-year experience working young children. Will consider highly motivated Trainee with a High School Diploma and a commitment to complete all required coursework. Candidates must be available to work between 9:00am-1:00pm, Monday through Friday.
