Full Time Infant/Toddler Teacher at 5 STAR Child Care in Brattleboro
Mulberry Bush Early Learning Program is seeking to hire an Infant/Toddler Classroom Teacher/Teacher Associate position, 40 hours per week, Full Time.
Start Date: August 22nd or possibly sooner.
Lead Teacher is to lead the Classroom while implementing a rich and equitable learning environment where communication is key. She/he will be responsible for implementing lesson plans and quality care for every child in a developmentally appropriate manner, ensuring opportunities for creative growth while promoting all areas of developmentally appropriate practice including, but not limited to: social-emotional, cognitive, physical and speech/ language skills in a child-centered learning environment, while maintaining state child care licensing regulations.
Lead in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations and ensure they are actively followed.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Maintain compliance with VT State Child Care Center Regulations.
Cleaning areas of the classrooms and general school area daily.
Qualifications: As stated in the Vermont Child Development Division Regulations:
To apply you must have at least a Teacher Associate (or close to obtaining this title) must be: At least 20 years of age, is a high school graduate of has completed a GED and meets at least one of the following qualifications, along with at least 12 months of experience:
* VT Career Ladder level 3 certificate
*An Associate degree from an accredited college, majoring in Early Childhood Ed, or Human Development, or Elementary Education or Child and Family Services
*A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program
*A Child Care Certificate from the Community College of VT with 12 months experience
*Successful completion of 21 college credits with an early childhood or school-age focus
Teachers with a teaching license and higher credentials are also welcome to apply!
Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
Ability to work well with others and collaborate.
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
An understanding of child development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and finger printing.
Must be willing to complete child care regulation mandated trainings within the first 6 months.
High School Diploma or GED, and significant college credit in early childhood education or related field of study. CDA or 6 hours of ECE credit preferred.
Completion of the Early Childhood Fundamentals course, or willing to complete within the first 6 months of employment. *See listed above for others
Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception
Must be able to move around, sit on the floor, lift children and move in a fast pace work environment.

This position will be full time 40 hours per week (which may be flexible ex: four 9 hour work days and one 4 hour work day).
