Provides bus transportation for enrolled children in a safe and timely manner to and from the North Bennington Campus. Acts as a liaison between the program and parents by communicating effectively, as well as retrieving and disseminating documentation that goes back and forth between school and the parents.
Part- time, 15 hours per week.
Transports children to and from Head Start at the North Bennington Campus, conducts field trips, and summer programs, as needed. Assists in providing required pedestrian/safety trainings to parents, children, bus monitor, and staff as mandated by federal and state regulations. Conducts emergency evacuation drills as scheduled. Maintains vehicle cleanliness and provides vehicle inspections and reports to facilities and transportation supervisor as required.
Maintains records for each bus family as required, including all emergency contacts and procedures. Keeps record of contacts with parents by entering case notes into the Child Plus database. Maintains daily inspection logs for the bus, daily attendance logs for children, and all records pertaining to CDL. Produces timesheets and UCS facility / maintenance inspections and requests in an accurate and timely manner.
CDL Required. UCS can help with cost of CDL for the right applicant.
United Children's Services of Bennington County/ Bennington County Head Start- Early Head Start operates 5STAR sites in North Bennington, Bennington, and Pownal VT, and serving children ages 6 weeks- 5 years and their families with comprehensive early childhood education. Our programs make up the Early Childhood Services Division of our grantee agency, United Counseling Services.
