We are seeking applicants for a teaching position in our Toddler/Two-Year-Old classroom at our Blackjack Rd location. The teacher is responsible for supervising the classroom and promoting the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children enrolled. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day/40 hours per week. The center's working hours are 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please call (270) 253-3578 to set a time to apply.
The toddler teacher will develop weekly lesson plans focusing on preschool-readiness skills that are developmentally appropriate. The teacher will complete ongoing observation and assessments of the children to modify the activities to meet the needs of each child. The teacher will be responsible for assisting with self-help skills such as feeding and toileting, changing diapers when applicable, and general care of toddlers. Other duties include organizing and maintaining the classroom, communicating with families verbally and in writing, and keeping updated records. Teachers are also responsible for tracking mandated training hours and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
Applicants must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
A copy of a TB skin test is required prior to entrance to the classroom.
Applicants must have the physical capacity to lift up to 40 pounds.
Classroom experience is a plus. Knowledge of KY child care regulations and the KY ALL STARS program is also preferred.
