Preschool Lead Teachers at Grandin Court Baptist Church Preschool are enthusiastic about working with children, incorporate literacy, math, and science in the learning environment, and seek to connect their faith in an inclusive classroom.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 12:30PM (May cover Early Care from 8-8:30 or Lunch Bunch until 1pm depending on staffing needs) (September - May). Summer camps also offered based on student interest.
o Arrive each day with all materials/resources prepared prior to student arrival.
o Plan units for the year and prepare daily lesson plans using STREAMin3 curriculum.
o Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety in accordance with ECERS guidelines.
o Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
o Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter introduction, personal hygiene, and social and self-help skills.
o Establish and facilitate guidelines for behavior management.
o Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related opportunities, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and child development specialists.
o Serve meals or snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
o Select, store, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies (Supply orders may be turned in to Director).
o Communicate well and assist in development of Assistant Teacher.
o Attend monthly staff meetings. Coordinate activities with the other teachers and director.
o Follow all health/safety guidelines as outlined in teacher handbook.
o Perform periodic student assessments (3x/year) utilizing GOLD assessment tool, and other assessments as needed. Schedule parent/teacher conferences.
o Develop/foster relationships with students' families through communication and daily interactions.
o Arrange for substitute teachers when necessary according to the policy in the Teacher Handbook.
o Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Associate's Degree - or experience in Early Childhood Education
Bachelor's degree in Education
CPR/First Aid Certification - will provide if needed
MAT certification - will provide if needed
