Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED, and meet the expectations of the Northern Lights Career Development Center Level 1 in order to qualify as a Teaching Assistant as stated in the Vermont Early Childhood Regulations. Interested persons should be hard working, dependable, team players, and be willing to advance academically, as training is a state requirement. If you are interested and unsure if you meet the requirements apply today we are willing to train the right person!
Position is paid weekly on Fridays
Individuals would be responsible for: maintaining classroom/school cleanliness and organization, delivering age appropriate curriculum as directed, communicating with parents about their children as directed, daily care for up to 8 children, and of course, providing loving care to the children in our school!
All candidates must meet the requirements set forth by the Child Development Division.

Classes in Early Education
Sick time each full time employee is entitled to five (5) paid days per year.
Vacation each full-time staff member is entitled to one weeks paid vacation (5 days) after the first year of service. Vacation time does increase with the years of service
After 1 year of service, the employee will also be eligible to participate in the company IRA (Individual Retirement Account) program.
Holidays each staff member is entitled to eight (8) paid holidays per year. They include: New Years, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving, and the following Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.
