This position works primarily with parents and vulnerable community members to provide comprehensive wrap-around supports that promote increased work readiness skills, improved self-esteem, positive parenting practices, and stronger family connections.
Program coordination and implementation of the MFCC Learning Together Program. Learning Together is primarily for parents of young children, but is also inclusive of other volunteers and vulnerable individuals, who are in need of a supportive environment where they have hands-on job training and soft-skills learning in our front reception and food shelf, greeting other parents and children into our onsite child care daily, answering phone calls and learning how to work with people. This position also supports the parent participants in learning how to create a better balance in caring for and understanding their child and family needs with caring for and building their own needs for career and job growth. Daily supervision of participants, one-to-one case management, parent support and education, pre-work readiness support and guidance.
Bachelor's level education in Human Services or Education or other related field of study. 2+ years experience working directly with parents, family case management, or other employment that involved direct support of families.
Understanding of family-centered practice. Job coaching or supervision experience. Understanding of Vermont Parent Child Centers.
