Summary

The Senior Educational Lead will work directly with the director of the Exeter Center. When not assisting in a classroom, the Senior Educational Lead will be working at the front desk to help with answering phones, welcoming families and faculty and guiding people to the proper channels if needed.


The Senior Educational Lead may assume other roles in the office such as, but not limited to, covering in the classroom, closing the building, mentoring faculty and attending center-wide events. This position is an hourly full-time position and we are looking for the hours of 9-5:30pm.


Center hours are currently 7:30am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday. This position is for our Exeter Center.

Duties

Senior Educational Lead Teachers report to the Director of Great Bay Kids' Exeter.

  • Interact with children, parents, families and co-workers in a positive, professional way.
  • Responsible for open communication with other Administration in regards to children, faculty, families and the environment.
  • Approximately 75% (more if needed) of time will be spend in the classrooms either as a mentor or conducting observations as well as providing coverage and assisting teachers in their day-to-day responsibilities; the other time will be spent doing administrative work.
  • Informed of agency and local emergency procedures and is proficient in handling emergencies.
  • Consistently adheres to the agency's discipline philosophy and practices positive guidance.
  • Guides and directs Lead Teachers, Associate Teachers, Child Care Assistants and Volunteers who assist with the implementation of daily programming.
  • Ensures that every child is supervised at all times and that play areas, equipment and toys are safe and sanitary.
  • Responsible for the care and upkeep of program equipment as well as overall site appearance.
  • Answering phones.
  • Assisting the Director in any additional Administrative Duties.
  • Able to accept comments and criticism from colleagues, supervisors, and families in a constructive manner.
  • Consistently follows the New Hampshire Child Care Program Licensing Rules as well as agency guidelines.
  • Participates in agency-sponsored functions such as: staff meetings, in-service training, open house events, and any other GBKC events
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Candidate must have 1000 hours experience working with children in a licensed child care program.
  • Candidate must be Lead Teacher qualified in accordance with current New Hampshire Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations.
  • Candidate must have 3+ years of experience as a Lead Teacher
  • Valid Driver's License if transporting children to special events in agency vehicles.
  • Complete NH Child Care Licensing required Health & Safety Training.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be flexible, energetic, be a team player and work well with young children.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Application including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. in addition to ProCare.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • NH Early Childhood Credentials (we will work with to earn if don't already have)

Great Bay Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality early childhood education and school age enrichment programs for children. Our early education facilities are located in Exeter, Newmarket, and Portsmouth, NH with school age programs offered in Exeter, Newfields and Portsmouth (Summer only).
