Summary


§ Work directly with the staff assisting with the daily operation of the Birth to 4 years old program. Ensuring compliance with BFTS Rules and Regulations; Quality rated standards; and implementation of the curriculum/education goals.

Provide weekly Observation for the Infant to K4 Classroom using the Quality Rated Rating Scale   ( ITERS & ECERS-3)

§ Set weekly goals and plan of actions for each class according to the ITERS & ECERS-3 rating Scale Observation result.

§ Report on the weekly progress of each classrooms towards meeting the Quality Rated Standards.

§ Provide hands on instruction by modeling and training the teachers to achieve the weekly goals set out on the plan of action.

§ Provide curriculum support and technical guidance for the use of developmentally appropriate activities for the Infant – K4 Classroom.

§ Ensure that teachers have a weekly lesson plan (due by Thursday of each week for the upcoming week) with activities using the High Scope Curriculum, the GELDS and other curriculum resources; and that they are implementing these activities daily.

§ Assist in ensuring that teachers have the materials they need in the classrooms to meet the Quality Rated Standards and complete lesson plan activities.

§ Ensure that the teachers are operating their classrooms according to the ITERS & ECERS-3 Rating Scale by following for example:

Ensure Program Structures in the Classrooms are practices daily

§ Transitions smooth, and waiting times are limited

§ Free Play/Large Group Play -Center time is supervised and classroom management systems are in place

           Ensure Personal Care Routines are running smoothly in each classroom

§ Appropriate Health & Safety Practices

§ Routine care are being performed using best practices standards

Ensure Language & Literacy Activities are incorporated daily to help Children:

§ Expand vocabulary

§ Encourage the use of language

§ Staff use of books with children and encourage children to use books

§ The classroom environment is print rich and children are becoming familiar with print

§ Implement Learning Activities in all the domains

§ See the GELDS

Ensure teachers are providing appropriate and consistent Interaction

§ Appropriate interaction in small groups,

§ individualized teaching and learning, large group center

§ Staff are response and interact with the children,

§ Monitoring and directing peer interaction

Assist in the classroom as needed and ensure classrooms are fully staffed according to state ration

§ using appropriate discipline method to guide the children daily

Requirements


AA, CDA, or TCC in Early Childhood Education

Satisfactory Criminal Background Letter from BFTS

2 Years of experience in the classroom providing direct supervision as a Lead Teacher

1 year experience with Quality Rated Standards

Working knowledge of the GELDS and creation of lesson plans
