Ascension Childcare is a dynamic school serving 80 children in Shelburne, Vermont. We are seeking a Licensed Pre-K Teacher to join our team. We are a five STAR, NAEYC-accredited center and have been offering early care and education since 1989. We have a team environment that not only sparks curiosity and promotes life- long learning for children but for teachers too. Our center offers a unique learning environment that includes spacious classrooms, a large natural playground, and indoor gross motor space.
Individuals must have experience in early education settings to be considered for this position. We are seeking a demonstrated commitment to quality learning environments and success in engaging children and introducing them to the world around them.
This teacher manages their own classroom and teaches independently, but will collaborate as part of a two person Pre-K team. As teacher, you will implement emergent curriculum incorporating provocation and observation in your planning and use the domains of the Vermont Early Learning Standards and the Ascension Curriculum Guide for guidance.
Patience, compassion, creativity and knowledge of young children are essential to success. Teachers work in partnership with families and colleagues. Must have an ability to multitask, provide constant supervision, and engage children with creative and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities. Strong classroom management skills are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desired. Ability to play, anticipate, observe, create, and laugh a must!
