A part time position to assist the Nutritional Coordinator with meal preparation, dishwashing, kitchen clean-up, food delivery, meal transportation and unloading groceries. This position must be able to treat each child and their families with respect, dignity, and caring; and be supportive of cultural differences, special needs, and different family structures. Reports and is accountable to, is supervised and evaluated by the Nutritional Coordinator.
I) Specific Duties
A) Meal Preparation
i) Wash and cut up fruits and vegetables.
ii) Make sandwiches.
iii) Package food to be transported to other sites.
iv) Set up carts.
i) Wash dishes, pots and pans by hand and then sanitize by machine.
C) Kitchen Clean-up
i) Put dishes away, clean counters, stove, and refrigerator.
ii) Keep the kitchen clean, orderly, and safe in accordance with state and local health codes to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
D) Meal Transportation
i) Load food into car and assist with delivery to other sites.
ii) Unload food deliveries; put food away when delivered.
E) Comply with Red Caboose policies and work rules and State Licensing regulations.
F) Interact respectfully with staff, children, and parents.
G) Other duties that fall within the scope of the job description as directed by your supervisor.
A) Must have experience cooking for large groups of people.
B) Must be at least 18 years old.
C) Must be able to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
D) Must be able to use kitchen equipment and appliances
