The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
Implement prepared lesson plans in line with the Wee Learn Curriculum, using developmentally appropriate practices.
Change centers out weekly to reflect the Unit of Study.
Prepare the Supply Order Form in the time frame required by the Director to enable purchases in time for the scheduled activity.
Work independently and effectively with the assigned Co-Teacher to balance responsibilities in the classroom and ensure oversight of children is effective.
Maintain cheerful respectful communications with parents as needed.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
Ensure a healthy classroom environment that is clean and safe.
Maintain required accurate records, forms and files.
Complete personal professional development goals to ensure continuous quality improvement.
One year of professional early childhood experience.
High School Education.
