The Early Childhood Assessor is responsible for contributing to Acelero Learning's impact evaluation by assessing children on early childhood language, literacy, math, and executive functioning skills. This position requires independent transport to centers, administration of an assessment battery to 3 and 4-year-old children, accurate calculation and recording of assessment scores, and support of children to remain focused on the assessments. This is a temporary research/assessment position (3-4 weeks each of two assessment periods). 


Weeks of testing: February 7, 2022 - February 25, 2022 and 4 weeks in May-June 2022. We can be flexible if you are only available for one testing period but would prefer the same assessors. 


Duties

  • Attend/complete training on administering assessments (anticipated for one week prior to testing)
  • Spend 15 days in each assessment period (winter & spring) conducting assessments to students in the Acelero Learning and Shine Early Learning classrooms
  • Score assessments and submit them using  Google Forms and/or FedEx, UPS, or USPS 
  • Participate in assigned meetings, events, and training as required

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, Masters or active enrollment in a Master's program preferred.  Focus on child development, early childhood psychology, or related fields strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge about child development and developmentally appropriate early childhood teaching practices is preferred 
  • Experience with data collection and attention to detail is required
  • Experience teaching or working with children is required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on a schedule
  • COVID-19 vaccination and background checks are required for this position
  • Travel required locally; must have reliable transportation

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Benefits


Compensation:

We will pay $35 for each child with 4 completed assessments.  If less than the full battery is assessed on some children, the fee will be $8 per instrument, per child.  We provide a stipend for training time and will reimburse for all travel to and from the locations.
