We're a team of educated, passionate, caring individuals who love what we do. We care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years by providing nurturing, welcoming environments and by implementing a child-led, inquiry based, emergent curriculum. We have an incredible outdoor play space, garden, and backwoods, so children and staff get to enjoy the outdoors in a variety of settings. We have warm, inviting classroom spaces and large indoor gross motor spaces. We partner with families to create inclusive classrooms, where all children, families, and staff feel honored, loved, and appreciated. We are in the beginning stages of the implementation of anti-bias education.
We're looking for a Toddler Educator and a Preschool Educator.
We are NAEYC Accredited, 5 STAR rated, and Seed & Sew Certified program. We set the example for high quality early care and education. Educators are expected to uphold the NAEYC program standards, as well as the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
As an Educator, you will focus your teaching and care approach by attuning yourself with a group of children's stages in development, sensory needs, areas of interest, emotional needs, and home cultures. You'll partner with your co-teacher and program floating teachers to meet the needs of the children in your cohort from day-to-day.
Patience, compassion, creativity and knowledge of young children are essential to success. Educators must have an ability to multitask, provide constant supervision, and engage children with creative and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities. Strong classroom management skills are important. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desired. Ability to play, anticipate, observe, create, and laugh are a must!

We offer competitive salaries, a monthly health stipend, consistent schedules and breaks, generous paid time off, holidays, and sick time. We also offer a 50% discount on tuition for staff who also have their child enrolled in our program. We partner with Invent EAP, so all Ascension staff have access to mental health, legal, and financial supports and consultation.
During the work day, full time staff are provided an hour long lunch break (off campus or on-sight). Should you choose to stay on-sight, we have a comfy "community room" as a place to relax, eat, get creative, or recharge. (Part time staff get a 30 minute break).
Is mental health important to you? All of our full time staff get a bi-weekly paid Flex Day. A day away from direct care of children where you can not only complete documentation and curriculum planning, but you can attend health care appointments, adequately meet your needs, and focus on your health, wellness, and happiness.
We compensate our staff well and partner with various local colleges and scholarships to help further the training and education of our staff. Ascension Childcare, Inc covers the cost of 30+ hours of professional development for all staff each year. We are all life-long learners and hope that any additions to our team hold similar values.
