Seeking Lead Infant Teacher for Looping Classroom Starting ASAP - 90% Reduced Rate Childcare Included

Reference ID : 35028
Location : Shelburne, VT

Job Type : Full Time

Description

Summary

Stonewood School North is now seeking a lead infant teacher to work in our licensed childcare center and prekindergarten program located between the towns of Shelburne and South Burlington. Our school is a prequalified preschool program under Act 166, a trauma informed school, and a specialized care provider. We will be working towards a 5 Star rating and NAEYC accreditation in 2022!

Our center currently has eight classrooms, and over 65 children enrolled. This position is for a lead teacher in one of our high-quality infant (12-18 month old) classrooms. Stonewood is a "looping" program meaning we believe children learn best in a consistent, predictable environment. We do not require children to move classrooms on their birthday but instead we keep groups of children together for up to 3 years in the same classroom. While the materials and classroom setup may change, the students and teachers remain consistent. We are seeking an early educator to join one of our high-quality classrooms, and the ideal candidate would be available to remain with this group until they move to our preschool program. If you are not available for at least one year, we would consider a temporary long term substitute position for the right candidate. This is a full time, year round, salaried position with lots of paid time off for vacation, sick/mental health days, training, college courses, professional development, and holidays. All of our classrooms and teaching teams are passionate about social-emotional development, and utilize a curriculum that supports pro-social skills and self-regulation.

At Stonewood School North, we strive to create an atmosphere of respect for all children and their families, and for our teaching teams. Please see our webpage at www.stonewoodschoolnorthvt.com for information about our philosophy, history, and classrooms.

Applicants must have and associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field. At least two years professional experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers.

We offer gracious paid time off, flexible scheduling, and 90% reduced cost childcare to our employees' families (space permitting).

We are an equal opportunity employer, and are passionate about the diversity of our center.
