The Child Care Center in Norwich is undergoing a transformation! We invite creative, devoted teachers to join us as we adopt a Reggio Emilia-inspired program with an emphasis on children's innate sense of wonder, the arts, and outdoor education. We currently have openings for toddler (age 2) teachers in two of our classrooms. Come join our team during an exciting time of renewal! We are offering a generous retention bonus, understanding the stressors of working during a pandemic.
Join a teacher team to lead a classroom of toddlers (age 2-young 3). Lead children on explorations on our beautiful wooded property, engage with science educators from our next-door neighbor the Montshire Museum of Science, collaborate with our atelierista (art teacher) who oversees our new art studio, facilitate an "emergent curriculum," one propelled by students' curiosity and interests, while embedding early literacy and numeracy into your wondrous explorations with children.
We require a college degree and at least one year of teaching experience in some venue. To be wildly successful, you bring creativity, a team spirit, and strong work ethic to your work with colleagues, families, children.
Prior teaching experience preferred (not required) in the Reggio Emilia approach. We are happy to train you, as needed, and provide professional development in the Reggio approach.
Great benefit package for full-time employees: 90% coverage of Blue Cross Blue Shield Standard Silver health insurance, along with 100% coverage of Delta Dental and vision insurance; 3 weeks vacation to start; ongoing professional development and constructive coaching.
