Chefs to Prepare Meals and Snacks for approximately 115 Children per day. Expectations are for fresh, healthy meals that children will be excited about eating.
The hours would be from 6:30am-3:30pm. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Properly stores all products according to food safety and health department guidelines
Record accurate daily counts for all meals served
Prepares nutritious meals and snacks for enrolled children
-Prepares substitute items for children on restricted diets
Distributes food to classrooms
Practices safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage
Plans and provides list of grocery items needed and reviews with the center Director/Admin Team
Keeps a daily record of menus
Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen, pantry and storage areas
Cleans all dishes and equipment clean and organized
Attends all workshops/meetings
Monitors food budget and makes adjustments as needed after reviewing with Director
See, hear, and respond to children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur. Communicate with children on their level (ability to stoop and bend). This position reports directly to the Director of the school. There will also be training to complete upon hire.
Must have a minimum of a CDA
2 years of experience in a licensed child care facility or school
Ability to lift 30 lbs and to stand for long periods of time
Previous experience cooking in a commercial kitchen
Must maintain state in-service requirements
Must receive a satisfactory fingerprint check
Must be ServSafe Certified or willing to obtain certification within 60 days of employment
