The teacher will perform daily tasks of the Child Development Center by performing the duties outlined below.

Work Hours: 9:00am-6:00pm or 7:00am-4:00pm


Classroom Management:

Establish a child-centered, safe learning environment following the Quality Rated and Bright from the Start Guidelines.

Plan and implement a flexible daily schedule, learning, enrichment and recreational activities based on the development needs of children.

Develop and implement lesson plans using the prescribed curriculum that meet the emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and cognitive needs of both the individual child and group while keeping the center's educational goals and beliefs.

Interact and engage with children at their level both physically and intellectually.

Use appropriate positive discipline and classroom management following Bright from the Start licensing regulations.

Be responsible for the safety and welfare of children in your care. Plan and implement methods to provide constant supervision of each child.

Keep classroom and resources and supply areas clean and orderly.

Greet each child while conducting an inconspicuous health check.

Encourage mealtime to be a pleasant social and learning experience by engaging in conversation with children during meals while acting as a positive role model.


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must love children and possess ability to relate to them in a sensitive manner.
  2. Must be in reasonably good health and able to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
  3. Must be agile enough to perform the job as a teacher of small children.
  4. Must be knowledgeable of child development, developmentally appropriate practices and other resources available to early childhood educators.
  5. Must be knowledgeable of Georgia Bright from the Start Licensing Regulations.
  6. Must support and abide by the center's educational philosophy.
  7. Must be able to effectively communicate with parents and prospective parents.]
  8. Must be able to work with peers in an effective manner.
  9. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.
  10. Must have the Health and Safety Orientation certificate.
  11. Must be willing to pursue further knowledge in the field of child development and to share that knowledge with others.

Education Requirements:

  1. Two years of college or equivalent in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), or Technical Certificate of Credit in Early Childhood Care and Education (TCC).
  2. One year of classroom experience.
