We are seeking applicants for a teaching position in our infant classroom. The lead teacher is responsible for supervising the classroom and promoting the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children enrolled. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day/40 hours per week. The center's working hours are 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please call (270) 598-0071 to set a time to apply.
The infant teacher will develop and implement weekly lesson plans that are geared toward meeting developmental milestones for the first year of life. The teacher will complete ongoing observation and assessments of the children to modify the activities to meet the needs of each child. The teacher will be responsible for feeding, changing diapers, and general care of the infants. Other duties include organizing and maintaining the classroom, communicating with families verbally and in writing, and keeping updated records. Teachers are also responsible for tracking mandated training hours and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent college degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is also required. Please bring copies of current credentials to the interview.
Applicants must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
A copy of a TB skin test is required prior to entrance to the classroom.
Applicants must have the physical capacity to lift up to 40 pounds.
Classroom experience is a plus. Knowledge of KY child care regulations and the KY ALL STARS program is also preferred.
