The Clubhouse Camp at Annette's Preschool is looking for an energetic, creative, flexible, and caring individual to work in our after school program with children age 5-8. We are an Eco-Healthy certified 5 STAR program located in Hinesburg, VT, and enjoy over 3 acres of green space, woods, trails and ponds (at nearby CVU campus)! Our program uses project based learning, has a dedicated maker space and "clubhouse" atmosphere for children! Staff responsibilities include planning and running age appropriate team building activities, small group games, service learning and having fun! Possibility to extend position to full time in summer for our Summer camp!

The Clubhouse After School Lead Teacher reports to the Program Director, and is responsible for designing and implementing activities that support the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of school age children in the Clubhouse. Using the project-based approach, the Lead Teacher engages, supports and supervises children ages 5-8 enrolled in the Clubhouse After School program located at Annettes Preschool in Hinesburg, VT. The Lead Teacher works with the Assistant Teacher to ensure that all children are included, engaged, safe and happy. The After School Teaching Staff serve as positive role models for all children, uphold the mission of Annettes Preschool, and actively participate in staff training, meetings and professional development opportunities to promote a positive learning environment that allows for students personal, social, and intellectual development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop weekly curriculum plans with the support of the assistant teacher involving a variety of play-based choices (i.e. artistic, sensory, large motor, fine motor, drama).
Inspire and coordinate activities and projects with enthusiasm and confidence.
Communicate curriculum plans and any other pertinent information to assistant teacher (i.e. messages from parents, health concerns, behavior and incidents).
Differentiate activities so they are appropriate for children of different ages and abilities.
Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
Comply with Annettes Behavior Guidance Philosophy and policies.
Organize grouping of children, when activities require small groups.
Supervise children in ALL areas of the classroom or outdoor environment.
Inspect the school site and equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action or informing the Director to prevent injuries.
Communicate with parents during drop-offs and/or pick-ups regarding any pertinent information or general daily comments.
Comply with all Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Handle all matters of attendance noting children that are in attendance, identifying those that are not and notifying the Director.
Report and document observations and incidents to the Director (i.e. commendation, accidents, guidance.)
Work Environment and Expectations:
Annettes Preschool is a high quality child care program that views each child as an individual with a unique developmental profile. Through age appropriate programing, Annettes serves children age 6 weeks to 8 years, and offers a full day summer camp for school age children (5-8 years) June - August.

Required Skills and Abilities:
B.A. degree in early or elementary education, child/human development, special education or child/family studies.
Demonstrate excellent rapport with school age children, a sense of humor and an authentic disposition toward helping children learn through play and hands on activities.
Have own transportation.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years (+) experience working with or caring for children (age 5-8 years) in school, center or home based settings.
Experience leading child activities, performances, trainings or educational presentations for children. Creative talents which can be shared in the classroom with children are a plus!
CPR/First Aid training is required.
General Pay and Contract Provisions
Hours 2:30 - 5:30PM, Monday, Wednesday through Friday, Tuesday 2:00-5:30PM
Competitive and commensurate with experience.
