Robins Nest Children's Center is excited to welcome an energetic Assistant Teacher to join our 5-STAR child care program. This position is a great opportunity for a motivated educator to work with children from infants to age fie in a play-based environment. The Assistant Teacher's primary responsibilities include working in multi-age classrooms to promote learning and development, collaborating with our experienced team, engaging in emergent curriculum, and communicating with children, parents, and staff. The ideal candidate for an Assistant Teacher will have completed early childhood or related coursework and have at least a year of experience working with children.
This is a full-time Assistant Teacher position; our program is open year-round.
We may consider a part-time Assistant Teacher or Associate Teacher for the right candidate!

Duties
- Initiate and direct activities to aid in child development
- Communicate with children, staff, and parents regarding specific daily information
- Ensure the health and safety of all children
- Diapering and bathroom assistance
- Follow all policies and procedures as defined by RNCC
- Adhere to the NAEYC code of ethics
- Help maintain the center's cleanliness through various duties
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- An understanding of child development and eagerness to learn more
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must successfully pass a full background check
- One year experience working in the ECE field and/or related coursework (as described in 7.3.2.3 VT Licensing Regulations)
Nice To Haves

- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
- Mandated reporter training
