We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Cook to join our child care center. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation, menu planning, and maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations. This role is perfect for individuals looking for part time employment, Monday-Friday in a fast paced environment.

Duties

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Support the head cook in menu planning, ensuring a variety of nutritious and appealing meal options.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies and tracking food usage.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of food presentation.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed, sharing knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices.

Requirements

Experience in meal preparation preferred, but will train the right individual.

• Experience in meal preparation preferred
• Knowledge of menu planning and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
• Strong understanding of food service operations, sanitation and quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration and communication.
