Summary

We are a boutique group family daycare in Prospect Lefferts Gardens offering a preschool-quality experience in a thoughtfully designed setting. We serve a small mixed-age group (up to 12 children, including 3K), blending play-based learning with intentional, topic-based experiences.


We are seeking a warm, reliable Preschool Teacher who brings both care, intention and positive energy to their work. You’ll support children’s development through a balance of play and planned learning while helping maintain a safe, well-run classroom environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, close-knit environment where relationships, routines, and play-based learning are central.


Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM–5 PM (35–40 hrs/week)

Duties

This role blends intentional teaching with attentive caregiving, including support with toileting, hygiene routines, and maintaining a thoughtfully kept classroom environment.

  • Support a balance of play-based and topic-driven learning experiences
  • Foster children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Maintain a calm, engaging, and well-structured classroom environment
  • Ensure children’s health and safety, including daily health checks and supervision
  • Support diapering and toileting routines with care and professionalism
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining an organized space
  • Safely escort children outdoors for daily play and exploration
  • Build respectful relationships with children, families, and team members

Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience working with young children
  • Be able to successfully complete a comprehensive background check
  • Provide 2 professional references (from child care) and 1 personal reference
  • 15 hours of health and safety training including CPR & First Aid
  • 12 college credits in ECE
  • A warm, attentive, and professional presence
  • Comfort with both caregiving responsibilities and educational practice
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
