Summary
Lil' Angels Child Development Center in Camden, SC, is seeking a passionate and nurturing Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our dedicated team. The Assistant Teacher will work collaboratively with the lead teacher to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role is ideal for an individual who is enthusiastic about early childhood education, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and is eager to contribute to the growth and development of young learners.
Duties
- Classroom Support:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and nap times.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Provide individualized attention and support to children as needed.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Assist with daily activity documentation, including observations of children's progress and behaviors.
- Support the lead teacher in maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Contribute to regular communication with parents regarding their child's day and development.
- Parent Engagement:
- Co-host parent engagement events, such as parent-teacher conferences, family nights, and workshops.
- Foster positive and open communication with families.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective program.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to all center policies and procedures, as well as licensing regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred)
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.
- Ability to lift and carry children as needed.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements.
