Summary
EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSROOM TEACHER
The Soulard Education Center is seeking a full-time collaborative Early Childhood Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to co-teach in our Preschool Program (2 year olds to 5 year olds). Soulard Education Center is a partner organization to The Soulard School, an elementary charter school. SEC provides tuition-based early childhood learning, as well as other programming for children.
Teachers implement a Reggio Emilia inspired, play-based curriculum. Children are encouraged to pursue their natural interests and learn from their surroundings through carefully planned, meaningful experiences.
We are seeking a creative, team-oriented teacher who:
- Sees themself as a learner and researcher alongside children
- Is a careful observer and listener of children
- Has an interest in sensory integration
- Enjoys leading outdoor explorations
- Will create trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Has experience in and understanding of Reggio Emilia inspired, play-based learning

Duties
Duties include:
- Co-create and implement lessons and experiences in the classroom
- Documentation and weekly newsletters
- Co-write trimester student evaluations
- Communicate with parents about student growth and needs
Requirements
Required skills and abilities:
- Warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families
- Reliable in attendance
- Willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children, including spending time outdoors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience in early childhood/elementary classroom setting required
