Position Overview:
Friends Center for Children is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks expertise to manage the organization’s day-to-day financial operations. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Bookkeeper plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting payroll and benefits, assisting with budgeting, and ensuring compliance with all fiscal policies.

Duties
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records using QuickBooks.
- Process and reconcile all accounts payable and receivable.
- Record and track daily billing, tuition, and deposits.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and fund balances monthly.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to the Executive Director and Finance Committee.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating budget.
- Assist with the annual audit process and serve as a liaison with external auditors.
- Support tax preparation and filings in collaboration with auditors.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll through Rippling in coordination with Human Resources.
- Support benefits administration, including health insurance, supplemental insurance, and 403(b) retirement plans.
Tuition & Financial Aid Support
- Manage tuition data entry and tracking in QuickBooks.
- Provide financial documentation and reports for the Financial Aid Committee.
- Assist in financial forecasting and planning for enrollment, tuition, and aid
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting (nonprofit experience strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP) and fund accounting.
- Experience with Rippling or similar payroll systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- QuickBooks Pro Advisor certification is a plus.

- Salary range: $60,000-$75,000, depending on qualifications and experience
