Duties
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher or develop your own based on curriculum guidelines
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment
- Engage students through interactive teaching methods tailored to different learning styles and developmental levels
- Support students’ social-emotional growth by fostering positive interactions and encouraging participation
- Assist with classroom routines such as attendance, transitions, and basic childcare responsibilities
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds, including those with autism or special education requirements
- Communicate regularly with school staff about student progress and any behavioral or academic concerns
Requirements
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education, literacy education, math, or special education is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively connect with students, staff, and parents
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Experience working with children of various ages, including preschool and elementary levels
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, tutoring, and working with individuals with autism is a plus
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles
- Certification or coursework in childhood development or Montessori methods is advantageous
