Preschool Teacher Assistant (Part-Time)
Future Leaders of Excellence is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to support our classroom team in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a team setting, and is committed to supporting early learning and development.
As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher and Director to help deliver a structured and high-quality educational experience. You will assist with daily classroom activities, help maintain organization and cleanliness, and contribute to building positive relationships with both children and families.
Duties
Position Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of lesson plans and classroom activities that encourage participation and engagement.
- Assist in creating a welcoming, safe, and well-organized classroom environment.
- Interact with children throughout the day to promote learning, social development, and positive behavior.
- Help monitor and maintain classroom materials, ensuring they are clean, accessible, and in good condition.
- Communicate with parents through daily conversations and assist in sharing updates on children’s progress.
- Encourage independence, self-care skills, and proper hygiene through modeling and guidance.
- Assist with daily routines, including transitions between activities and arrival/departure times.
- Follow all center policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements.
- Support documentation of children’s development and classroom observations as directed.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance job performance and classroom quality.
Requirements
Requirements
- Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Successful completion of a full background check and required health screening.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive team environment.
- General understanding of early childhood development principles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Energetic, dependable, and able to engage actively with young children throughout the day.
- Demonstrates patience, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with children.
Nice To Haves
Education
- A Child Development Associate (CDA), Technical Certificate (TCC), or an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree may also be considered. Relevant experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
