Summary

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. In addition, the Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to meet the children's needs, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns. At Little Doves Children's Learning Center, you will work with students from 1 year old to 5 years old. We are looking for teachers who can watch over classrooms to keep children safe and lead meaningful lessons with students. We seek someone who works well in a team, as our teachers often collaborate on activities and lessons.

Duties

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and the safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Fully Covid Vaccinated
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Food Handlers Permit
  • Passed TB Test
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • One year of experience
  • Must clear a full background check and must pass a health screening.
  • Requirements include taking frequent walks, using hands and fingers, handling objects, tools, or controls, and talking to and hearing voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities will be required, including the ability to see up close and at a certain distance, see colors, and have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
