Summary
Serving children ages birth - 9 years, TPC is a play-based preschool with a backbone in community care. We follow a whole-child approach to build empathetic, capable children who love themselves and others. Our focus is on helping children develop foundational social and emotional skills in order to support the full spectrum of development.
Tenney is a collaborative preschool program, so families are uniquely involved in the school, with some caregivers may even working classrooms at times under the direction of a Lead Teacher.

The Float Teacher must demonstrate flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to transition smoothly between classrooms while maintaining consistent expectations for care and supervision.
Duties
The Full-Time Float Teacher is a flexible support role responsible for maintaining continuity of care and supporting daily classroom operations across the program. This position works collaboratively with the executive director, teaching staff, and families to ensure safe, engaging, and well-functioning learning environments.
- Provide classroom coverage to support teacher planning time, breaks, and staff absences
- Serve as a substitute teacher as needed across age groups
- Maintain active supervision of children in accordance with licensing and program standards
- Support implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and routines
- Assist with classroom cleaning, organization, and material preparation
- Help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment throughout the center
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations
Requirements
- Qualifies as Assistant or Lead teacher in The WI Registry
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and families) to foster a collaborative environment.
- Strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- Excellent self-reflective, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
