This is a full-time position. Our perfect candidate understands that children must trust and have a strong rapport with their care giver as a foundation. Once that relationship is established, then the learning can begin. Our teacher should focus on meeting students where they are developmentally and incorporating activities and routines that challenge and empower them to do more. Students deserve freedom of movement, the ability to follow their interests and to be supported in learning new skills.
Our teacher should be thrilled by learning a dancing routine and ready to explore each sensory bin with the class-- engaging with each child with the intent of helping them expand their understanding.
Assisting in writing and implementing a monthly syllabus based on the children's needs and interests. Accurately filling out daily reports and communicating with parents.
Engaging in play with children as opposed to strictly supervising children playing. Collaborating with your co-teacher. Following Department of Education protocols as well as center standards for care.
High School Diploma or higher (CDA, Associates)
A year's worth of experience working in a licensed childcare center.

Va Preservice Training, CPR/FA, Health and Safety Update Training, Child Abuse and Neglect, Daily Health.
