Child Care Assistant - Afternoon

Meli's Munchkins Bilingual Learning Center is a nurturing and safe family childcare home dedicated to providing a Spanish/English learning environment where children can thrive. 

Are you a caring and reliable individual who loves working with children? Meli's Munchkins Bilingual Learning Center is looking for a Child Care Assistant to join our team. The Child Care Assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for infants and young children. This role includes supervising children, assisting with daily routines, supporting educational activities, and helping maintain a clean and organized childcare space.

This position is ideal for individuals interested in childcare, daycare work, early childhood education, or preschool support.

Duties

• Schedule: Monday to Friday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm
• Keep all program areas clean and organized, including the classroom, kitchen, dining area, and bathroom.
• Prepare and serve meals to children.
• Bottle-feed babies as needed.
• Supervise children at all times, including during nap time and outdoor play, to ensure their safety.
• Change diapers following program procedures.
• Support, lead, or continue with lesson plans designed by the Lead Teacher.

Requirements

All candidates must be able to pass all required background checks, including fingerprinting and child abuse and neglect clearances in accordance with Maryland Office of Child Care regulations.

If you pass the initial interview, the final hiring process will require the submission of the following documents to the Office of Child Care. The costs for processing these documents will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the hiring process.

• Health Assessment Form (OCC 1204)
• Release of Information Form (OCC1260): This document must be notarized.
• Background Check: This requires a fingerprint process. Please provide the following code to the biometric services office and specify that the check is for childcare services: Office of Childcare Code: 1100000053.
• CPR and First Aid Training Certificate
• SIDS and SUIDS Training Certificate
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day to assist with children and supplies

Employment may begin on a provisional basis while required documents are being processed by the Maryland Office of Child Care.

Paid Training

The employer will provide comprehensive, hands-on paid training for four weeks at a rate of $16.00 per hour. The goal of this training is to help you become familiar with your responsibilities and the culture of Meli's Munchkins Bilingual Learning Center.
