Summary

We are hiring a qualified Lead Early Childhood Teacher for our mixed-aged preschool classroom in our small, family-orientated center nestled as the cornerstone of the Idlewild-South community.

Our program is play-based using Creative Curriculum, nurturing the whole child. We focus on fun weekly learning themes where your creative input is valued and appreciated.

Our name says it all. We are a Garden and the children are our Butterflies. The ideal candidate would appreciate the wonders of nature, encourage respect for all living things. We recycle and aspire to influence the next generation with our introduction to Environmentalism.

Duties

  • Create and implement Creative Curriculum lesson plans according NC Foundations.
  • Follow Best Practices and assist preparations for QRIS Pathway 2 for 5 Stars
  • Maintain and safe and clean learning environment.
  • Communicate clearly and calmly with children, staff, and families.
  • Monitor and document child development and make adjustments for learning differences.
  • Create a classroom of being kind and helpful with good manners. Prayers may be sung before meals but not forced.

Requirements

  • Current NC Criminal Background check for child care
  • Medical exam & TB clearance
  • The North Carolina Early Childhood Credential (NCECC) is a mandatory requirement for lead teachers in NC childcare centers, designed to ensure quality care and foundational education. It is typically earned by completing the EDU 119 ("Intro to Early Childhood Education")
  • Physically capable of lifting 50lbs, squatting, bending, running.
  • Be technology proficient for online training requirements and developmental documentation
  • Complete all annual NCDHHS requirements for Early Childhood Development

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or certificate in Early Childhood Development
