The Boys & Girls Club of Meriden upholds our mission of enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens, by providing services to a diverse community. Our four core programs include Afterschool Programming, Summer Camps, Youth Recreation, and The Learning Center Preschool.
The preschool program at the Boys & Girls Club of Meriden provides care for children ages 3–5 years old and promotes positive relationships among all children and adults. Our curriculum is consistent with its goals for children and promotes development and learning in the following areas: social, physical, emotional, cognitive and language. The program uses culturally, developmentally, and linguistically appropriate effective teaching approaches. Systematic, informal and formal assessments provide feedback on each child’s learning and development. We employ and support a teaching staff with the educational qualifications, professional commitment and knowledge necessary to promote children’s learning and development. We establish and maintain collaborative relationships with each child’s family to foster their development in all settings. The program has a healthful and safe environment that provides appropriate and well-maintained outdoor and indoor physical activities.
