Summary

Global Pioneer Academy is a fast growing Early Childhood Education Center in Readington Township, NJ. We partner with Readington Township Schools as a provider for Public Pre-k. We are looking for an amazing person to join our team and help manage our aftercare program. Monday- Friday 2:30 pm-6:00 pm. Additional hours are available

The Afterschool Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children during the afterschool hours. This role supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through structured activities, play, and positive guidance. The Afterschool Teacher works collaboratively with program staff to ensure high-quality care and supervision for children in an early childhood setting.

Duties

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate afterschool activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, and outdoor play.
• Support children’s social and emotional development using positive guidance and behavior management techniques.
• Assist children with transitions, snacks, and daily routines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding children’s progress and needs.
• Follow all program policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety procedures.
• Assist with preparing materials and setting up activity areas.
• Be a collaborative team player

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or afterschool setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
• Ability to supervise groups of children and manage classroom behavior effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Must pass background checks and meet all state licensing requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
