INFANT AND TODDLER TEACHER

Summary

We are seeking a caring, patient, and dependable Infant and Toddler Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. The teacher will support each child’s emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities, play, and daily routines. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized classroom, following state licensing regulations, communicating effectively with parents, and working collaboratively with staff to create a positive learning environment. Duties

Infant and Toddler Teacher Job Duties

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and toddlers.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that support physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Follow daily routines for feeding, diapering, napping, and playtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom according to state licensing regulations.
• Observe and document children’s development and progress.
• Communicate daily with parents about their child’s activities, meals, naps, and overall well-being.
• Comfort and support children as they develop trust, independence, and social skills.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a positive classroom environment.
• Ensure all health, safety, and licensing requirements are followed.
• Assist with potty training when appropriate.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development when required.
• Report any concerns regarding child safety, behavior, or health to the director.

Requirements

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required (CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred).
• Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, and care for children up to 40 pounds.
• Must pass a background check and meet all state childcare licensing requirements.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, nurturing, and dependable personality.
• Ability to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for young children.
• Must be reliable and able to maintain consistent attendance.
• Must complete required state childcare training hours.
