Summary
We are seeking a caring, patient, and dependable Infant and Toddler Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. The teacher will support each child’s emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities, play, and daily routines. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized classroom, following state licensing regulations, communicating effectively with parents, and working collaboratively with staff to create a positive learning environment. Duties
Infant and Toddler Teacher Job Duties
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and toddlers.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that support physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Follow daily routines for feeding, diapering, napping, and playtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom according to state licensing regulations.
- Observe and document children’s development and progress.
- Communicate daily with parents about their child’s activities, meals, naps, and overall well-being.
- Comfort and support children as they develop trust, independence, and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Ensure all health, safety, and licensing requirements are followed.
- Assist with potty training when appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development when required.
- Report any concerns regarding child safety, behavior, or health to the director.
Requirements
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required (CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred).
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and care for children up to 40 pounds.
- Must pass a background check and meet all state childcare licensing requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient, nurturing, and dependable personality.
- Ability to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for young children.
- Must be reliable and able to maintain consistent attendance.
- Must complete required state childcare training hours.
Salary : $12 to $16/Hr
