Full time, salaried position for qualified applicant. Applicant must have complete working knowledge of Virginia Standards for Licensed Child Day Centers and assist the Administrator in maintaining these standards. The candidate must meet the education requirements as outlined in the Standards. Experience in supervision of staff and working relationships with families are necessary. Knowledge of preschool curriculum and supervision of its implementation is required. Flexibility and strong organizational skills are essential to this position. Candidate will be responsible for assisting the Administrator in all duties required to run the non-profit childcare center as well as maintaining the facility. Salary will be based on experience. This position has the potential for advancement within the organization.
This position requires meeting and maintaining all state licensing requirements for a licensed childcare center including, but not limited to enrollment of all children, maintaining appropriate records for each child enrolled, and maintaining medication requirements for children enrolled. This candidate must have the ability to develop and implement activities and services for children enrolled in the center, including summer activities for all school aged children enrolled. Planning of appropriate field trips, driving center vehicles for the purpose of trips and after school pick up will be required.
Also, the Program Director must assist the Administrator in the hiring and supervision of staff, scheduling staff, orientation of new staff and ongoing training, maintaining staff files and required background checks of current staff. Menu planning according to the USDA, CACFP program, and supervise the ordering of food service supplies.
The Program Director must also have the ability to assist in the maintenance of the playground, building and property of the center. This position has a strong potential for advancement within the organization.
The candidate must have the appropriate education such as a graduate or bachelor's degree in a child related field such as early childhood, elementary education, a minimum of 1 year experience in supervision of staff in a similar position.
