Preschool Program Administrator

Summary

The Champions Center is hiring a Preschool Program Administrator to work under the direction of our Executive Director. The Champions Center for Special Children is an independent nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that provides specialized daily care, early education and critical therapies for children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years) who live with disabilities, special needs or developmental delays. This role will serve as the childcare director for the children and families served by our program, with supervision from the Executive Director, and in accordance to DSS and ABC Quality policies. The Preschool Program Administrator will provide direct supervision to Champion Center Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Substitutes and Volunteers.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Supervision of program staff through scheduling, training, evaluations, conflict resolution, documentation, and positive leadership
• Acting as a liaison and advocate for our children and families by coordinating resources, developing yearly goals for support services, working with therapists and other service providers, and recruiting children to attend the program
• Maintain waitlist and provide tours to prospective families. Execute the successful enrollment of children by ensuring all paperwork is gathered and filed accordingly to meet state regulations
• Operating within a budget defined by the Executive Director and successfully managing resources.
• Collaborating with the Executive Director and Development Director to successfully execute the Strategic Plan for The Champions Center as outlined by the Board of Directors
• Operating the program under the supervision of the Executive Director, through compliance with regulations, prioritizing safety and efficient day-to-day operations
• Ensure staff receives all training required by the state and that all profiles are in the SC Endeavors system.
• Collaborate with Executive Director to plan and implement continuing education and professional development opportunities.
• Manage DSS and ABC Child Scholarship Program visit and DSS and ABC Quality policies, ensuring staff and center meet all regulations

Requirements

The Preschool Program Administrator will possess at least one of the following:

A college or university degree in early childhood education, child development, child psychology 

or a related field that includes at least 18 credit hours in child development and/or early 

childhood education;

• A bachelor’s degree from a college or university in any subject area and six months experience 

working with children in a licensed, approved or registered child care facility;

• An associate’s degree from a college or university in early childhood education, child 

development and/or child psychology or a related field that includes at least 18 credit hours in 

child development and/or early childhood education with six months work experience in a 

licensed approved or registered child care facility;

• The director shall not have been determined to have committed an act of child abuse or neglect 

or have been convicted of any crime listed in Chapter 3 of Title 16, Offenses Against the Person; 

any crime listed in Chapter 15 of Title 16, Offenses Against Morality and Decency or for the 

Crime of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor in Section 16-17-490.

• A check of the S.C. Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect shall be requested

• Shall first undergo a state fingerprint review from SLED.
