Summary

Are you a passionate educator dedicated to early childhood development? Open Door Preschool is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Toddler Teacher to join our inclusive M Station team. In this co-teaching role, you will work alongside a partner to create a nurturing, engaging, and high-quality learning environment for our toddlers.

Schedule & Availability

  • Status: Full-Time
  • Days: Monday through Friday
  • Hours: Must be able to work until 5:45 PM

Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-Teaching Collaboration: Partner effectively with a co-teacher to lead daily activities, share classroom responsibilities, and maintain a cohesive, positive learning environment.
  • Inclusive Curriculum Implementation: Plan and execute age-appropriate, child-centered lesson plans that support the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of all toddlers, ensuring adaptations for diverse learning needs.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets NAEYC and TRS Four-Star standards for health, safety, and environmental quality.
  • Observation & Assessment: Conduct regular child observations and assessments to track developmental milestones and inform individualized instruction.
  • Caregiving Excellence: Provide responsive and nurturing care, including assisting with diapering, toilet training, meal times, and nap time transitions.
  • Family Engagement: Maintain open, professional communication with families regarding their child’s daily progress through verbal check-ins and digital reporting tools.
  • Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development, staff meetings, and training to maintain high-quality certification standards.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field is strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare facility or NAEYC-accredited center.

Compliance: Must meet all Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) and Texas Rising Star (TRS) requirements for childcare personnel.

Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, participate in floor-level activities with children, and maintain the stamina needed for a full day of active engagement.

Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work effectively in a co-teaching partnership.
