Summary

Position Overview: The Floater at Empower Learn Create at UC is responsible for engaging children in a constructivist classroom environment tailored to their developmental needs. This role requires a passionate and flexible educator who can foster a nurturing and stimulating learning atmosphere where infant, toddler, and preschool children can explore, create, and grow. ELC at UC has a commitment to teaching with a social emotional lens. The environment supports the teacher's role with a beautiful natural play space and innovative art studio. Our hours of operation are 8-5 Monday through Friday. This is a PART TIME POSITION with hours of 1:30-5:30

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities based on constructivist principles to promote holistic development in children.
  2. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and critical thinking.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to execute learning experiences that align with the center's educational philosophy and goals.
  4. Provide individualized support and guidance as needed.
  5. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and partnerships to support children's learning and development.
  6. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other relevant documentation as required by regulatory standards.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Commitment to enroll in scholarship funded pursuit of CDA / Associate credential or higher in Early Childhood Education
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of constructivist teaching approaches and their application in early childhood education is preferred a growth mindset to learn our philosophy is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Understanding of child development principles and effective practices in early childhood education/ willingness to be coached on this approach
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
  • Consistent and dependable attendance

Nice To Haves

Preferred:

  • Minimum CDA credential
  • Previous experience with curriculum planning and lesson design.
  • Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early learning standards.
  • Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for inspiring young learners.
