Magic Mountain Children’s Center, a growing non-profit preschool in the heart of South Royalton, VT, is seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Program Director to join our leadership team. Located within walking distance of the town center, our center is a cornerstone of the local community, serving children from six weeks to five years old with a focus on play-based, developmentally appropriate learning.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Support: Work closely with the Executive Director on daily operations and strategic planning.
  • Office & Administrative Tasks: Assist with essential office duties, including record-keeping, scheduling, and managing staff coverage.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to our passionate classroom teachers to ensure a high-quality curriculum.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the center in local networking circles and foster strong relationships with families and community partners.
  • Directorial Duties: Step in to manage center operations in the absence of the Executive Director.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Is at least 20 years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed their GED and has one of the following qualifications: 
  • An associate degree with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child and Human Development, Elementary Education, Child and Family Services or Related Field
  • Minimum one year of experience working with children grade 3 and younger
  • Ability to relate well with children
  • Understanding of curriculum and child development
