Summary
Our Primrose School in Kansas City/Clay County is looking to add additional staff to our team.
We are looking for someone with a love and dedication to young children and a flexible schedule. This position is for a Pre-K teacher, and would be full time. A full time schedule would be Mon-Fri. 8-5pm with a full lunch hour break. Attach a resume to be considered.
When joining our team, you will bring your expertise and assist with implementing lesson plans based on our Balanced Learning curriculum, while interacting with children and families. You will implement family-style dining and help promote a safe environment where children can be happy and active learners. Be part of a great team and help make a difference in a young child's life. Duties
- Lead fun, hands-on learning (art, literacy, STEM, movement & more)
- Follow our structured Balanced Learning® curriculum (we provide the plans!)
- Create a safe, organized, engaging classroom
- Build strong connections with children and families
- Use positive guidance — no yelling, no chaos
- Maintain active supervision and licensing compliance
- Communicate daily updates with families using Procare
- Support classroom ratios and team coverage
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field
- CDA Certification
- 2 - 5 years’ experience working in licensed early childhood centers
