Lead teacher in Montessori preschool mixed-age classroom of children ages 2.5years-6years old. Priority given to candidates certified/trained in, or familiar with, Montessori educational philosophy.
Position is fulltime 40h/wk, 7:45-3:45 or slight variations on that schedule as needed. Our program runs year-round, with a Fall semester, Spring semester, and Summer session. Position is hourly and offers medical, dental, and retirement.

Duties include cleaning, preparing, and closing the classroom, coordinating and mentoring the Assistant Teacher, preparing lesson materials using our large library of Montessori materials, assisting children ages 2.5yo-6yo with individual work, at circle time, snacks or lunch (some food preparation required), outside or inside play, and transition times.
Lead teachers are responsible for collaborating with Director of Operations, Board of Directors, Assistant Teachers and other staff, and parents or caregivers to support a safe, effective, and sustainable Montessori preschool educational program. Regular and clear communication with parents/caregivers is expected regarding classroom routines, events, or about individual children to manage behaviors or educational plans.
Lead teachers are expected to help children manage behaviors and learning under the Montessori philosophy.
Some requirements must be completed prior to starting, but most can be completed within first 90d of hire.
