Summary
We are looking for a fun, loving, dedicated staff member to join our toddler team! We need a child care staff member who will be responsible for providing daily care and active supervision for children ages 18 months to 36 months in an ODJFS licensed child care center. Previous experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has a passion for working with children and is willing to learn the ins and outs of child development.
Duties
Responsibilities include:
- Completion of professional development as required by ODJFS, including orientation and health/safety trainings
- Becoming knowledgeable in licensing rules and regulations, as well as our company policies
- Active supervision at all times of day including play time, meal times, nap times, and outdoor play.
- Must be willing/able to change diapers and assist with toileting
- Implementation of developmentally appropriate activities, should be able to think and adapt quickly to the needs of the children/center
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, including organization of classroom materials and the ability to follow a cleaning schedule/checklist
- Maintain a professional relationship with enrolled families and coworkers in all aspects
Requirements
- Must be age 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent OR meet the following requirements: a high school junior or senior enrolled in a career tech program for Child Development or Early Childhood Education
- Must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check as required by ODJFS
- Must be able to provide an Employee Medical Statement as required by ODJFS (will be discussed in an interview)
- Must be dependable with good attendance
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a licensed child care center
- CDA, AAS, or BA in Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education
- Current First Aid & CPR Training (Infants, Adolescents, Adult)
- Current Child Abuse & Neglect, Communicable Disease training
- References available for contact regarding work ethic and attendance
