Duties
Nurturing Care & Development
- Responsive Engagement: Provide warm, consistent care by responding to infant cues, leading sensory activities, and encouraging participation in daily play.
- Positive Modeling: Support early "self-help" skills and healthy habits through gentle behavior modeling and interaction.
- Smooth Transitions: Create a welcoming environment to help babies (and parents!) transition happily from home to the center each morning.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Equal Responsibility: Share full accountability for classroom management, ensuring 100% compliance with licensing, health, fire, and SIDS safe-sleep regulations.
- Hygiene Excellence: Attentively manage personal care routines, including diapering, handwashing, and feeding, while maintaining a sanitized and organized environment.
- Meticulous Records: Collaborate with your co-teacher to keep real-time, accurate attendance and daily care logs (feedings, naps, and diapering).
Communication & Professionalism
- Parent Partnerships: Build deep trust through frequent updates, daily reports, and professional discussions about each child’s progress.
- Integrity & Discretion: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records, family information, and center operations.
- Continuous Growth: Participate in staff meetings and professional development to stay current on infant brain development and safety best practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (CDA or ECE credits preferred).
- Minimum of one year of experience in a licensed childcare setting preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet all state licensing requirements and pass a background check.
- Current (or willingness to obtain) CPR, First Aid, and SIDS/Safe Sleep certifications, and any other trainings required by licensing.
- Physical stamina to sit on the floor, lift infants, and move quickly throughout the day.
