Summary
The Support on Standby Program (SOS) is a licensed substitute teacher placement agency within The Wheelhouse Collaborative that provides ECE substitute services to child care centers and homes throughout the Denver Metro, Boulder/Longmont, and Castle Rock.
ECT Substitute provides substitution teaching services to childcare centers and homes, from infant through school-age, when the permanent lead teacher is absent.
Substitute Lead Teachers are experienced and skilled in managing young children and assistant teachers in partnership with permanent childcare staff.
The substitute teachers are knowledgeable of developmentally appropriate curriculum and childcare classroom management skills in to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

- Parker/Castle Rock/Lone Tree
All substitutes are independent contractors, not employees of the Wheelhouse Collaborative.
Job Details:
- Working in centers and FCCH homes
- Our goal is to keep you within 30 minutes of your home/school. .
- How much you work depends your set availability every week.
- Most jobs are scheduled Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
Duties
Overall Responsibilities include:
- Child behavior management
- Working with co-teachers to manage groups
- Health safety and supervision
- Curriculum implementation
- Serving meals
- Managing naptime
- Communicating with families
- Providing a loving, fun, and safe learning environment.
Requirements
Qualifications for this position are set by the State of Colorado and are required for all substitute positions before they can be placed.
The REQUIRED documentation includes:
- ECT Leads: EQIT, Pyramid Plus, ECE 101 (Intro) and/or 103 (Guidance)
- 1 year as a lead teacher
- Ability to clear federal and state background checks
- Completed PDIS Teaching Credential Level 2 or above
- Health Appraisal
- Business Liability Insurance
- CPR/First Aid Certification
Nice To Haves
- ECE Degree or certificate
- ECE training in guiding child behaviors and managing groups
- Enjoys working in new environments and learning something new about kids every day.
- Self-motivated in increasing knowledge and skills by attending staff meetings, training, college level classes, and/or
- Skilled at planning, initiating, and implementing educational activities geared to the developmental needs of the group of children in your care.
- Possesses the maturity and sound judgment needed to handle emergency situations.
- Practices professionalism in everything you do while on the job and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with parents, children, and co-workers
