About the job:
The job of the ECEAP Teacher/Family Advocate is done for the purpose/s of planning and implementing appropriate lesson plans that meet the individual and group needs; ensuring that each family receives center conferences and/or home visits as determined by program model; encouraging family engagement in the program; documenting family and child progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of family and child; and maintaining an environment that is physically, socially and emotionally safe and healthy.
Responsibilities of this position:
Our ideal candidate is someone with an Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (or closely related field) and two years’ experience working in early childhood programs, preferably in ECEAP, Head Start, and/or other state Pre-K programs. Candidates working towards a degree will be considered, depending on other qualifications. Our ideal candidate also has some experience using Microsoft Programs including Outlook. Bilingual preferred.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience working with young children.
Position requirements:
· Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field; OR successful completion of degree within five years of hire.
· A DCYF Portable Background Check.
· Proof of a recent negative TB test.
Proof of at least one MMR Vaccination
· Infant/Child CPR/First Aid certification.
· Food handler’s card.
· Participation in assigned initial and on-going professional development.
Other things to know:
· This position works 8 hours/day (M-F) x 180/days (including paid holidays), September – June, with occasional additional hours as scheduled.
The pay range for this position is $22.62- $27.65 per hour.
A $1.00/hr wage enhancement will be added to the pay rate for the regular use of Spanish in this position, with an additional $.50 /hr for the regular use of a third language.
