Mālamalama Waldorf School on the east side of Hawaiʻi Island is seeking a warm and dedicated Lead Early Childhood Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Lead Teacher guides our Waldorf inspired early childhood classroom, fostering a developmentally appropriate program rooted in play, artistic activity, rhythm, and connection with nature. We are looking for an educator who brings presence, creativity, and a genuine love for young children, and who values partnership with colleagues and families.
• Lead and carry the early childhood classroom for the school year
• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate Waldorf inspired curriculum
• Create and maintain a nurturing, well organized classroom environment
• Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
• Foster meaningful communication and partnership with families
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and administration
• Uphold licensing and school policies and procedures
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training completed or in progress
• Valid DHS Teacher and or Director Teacher designation
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to pass a background check
• Experience working with young children
• Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Keaʻau, HI 96749
